Rev. Jonathan D. Moore

is the founding and Lead Pastor of Grace Family Church in Youngstown, Ohio. This new church plant seeks to emphasize the marvel and reality of God’s grace in the life of every person and the formation of strong biblical families rising above the challenges and obstacles of modern society. Jonathan is passionate about communicating the dynamic truths of the Gospel with enthusiasm and joy.

His ministry has taken him to twenty-nine different countries on five continents as an evangelist, missionary, and pastor. Having preached in hundreds of churches across a wide variety of denominations and ethnicities, he enjoys being among people of all ages, cultures, and walks of life. Grace, brokenness, transparency and the power of the cross to transform lives are key elements of his message.

Prior to the launching of GFC in October of 2012, Pastor Moore ministered for eleven years as Lead Pastor of Highway Tabernacle Church in Youngstown and as President of the Youngstown Christian School for four years. From 1995 through 2001 the Moores served as appointed foreign missionaries with the Assemblies of God, residing in Dakar, Senegal, West Africa serving Sierra Leone and The Gambia in particular.  Preceding his missionary assignment, Pastor Moore ministered at Praise Assembly of God in Niles, Ohio for nearly seven years.

His first book, The Simple Power of a Broken Life, was issued by Wipf & Stock Publishers in May of 2019. You may find more info about the book here:

Along with various leadership responsibilities within the Assemblies of God, Rev. Moore has also served on various boards and committees such as HeartReach Neighborhood Ministries, Ohio Valley Teen Challenge, The Hope Project Africa, the Board of Regents of Africa’s Hope, the Asia Pacific Board of Regents, the Missions Committee of the Ohio Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God and the Assemblies of God World Missions Board. A strong and enthusiastic proponent of missions, Pastor Moore led Highway Tabernacle in giving six million dollars to missions during his eleven years of ministry there and Grace Family Church, though a newer church plant, is approaching the $200,000 threshold in missions giving since its inception.

A lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley, Pastor Moore is a 1978 graduate of Struthers (Ohio) High School.  Just before completing His Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education through Youngstown State University, he transitioned from pursuing a career in teaching and coaching and entered full-time ministry. In 1996 he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Bible and Theology from Global University and in 2022 earned a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies through that same institution, with some courses taken at the West Africa Advanced School of Theology in Lomé, Togo.

Pastor Moore’s favorite Bible verse is Jude 24: “Now unto Him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.”  Aside from Christ, the greatest joy of his life is family: his wife, Paulette, children Lucas & Jordan, Matthew & Krista Lyn, Jessica & Glen, Victoria & Colin, and grandchildren Wren, Locke, Knight, Vonn, Max, Alena, and Sienna.

Real people. Real problems. Real grace. Grace Family Church.

About Grace Family Church

Grace Family Church was started as a non-denominational church in October 2012 by a group of individuals from all ages, cultures, and walks of life who were committed to no longer be bound by religion in order to passionately pursue the grace of God, utilizing a non-traditional setting as a means to reaching their community and world.

The Grace family places great value on each individual person. Foundational to our existence as a local body of believers is the endeavor to walk with one another in grace. We are committed to transparency, authenticity, and humility as devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We are also committed to the pursuit of emotional, relational, and spiritual health. Integrity in our relationships with each other is of the highest priority.
